First Sergeant Bacon, as an Army Vet of the 1980s who did not serve in combat I commend you for your heroism. You, First Sergeant are the bravest of the brave for your truly outstanding service on behalf of our nation and the United States Army. Rest in peace, top!

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ sustain you all. Nicky has gone to his eternal reward and left such a great legacy for not only his family, but for all of us that served in Viet Nam. I never met Nicky, but one of my best friends served in his platoon. I was in the same area several months later. He IS a great soldier...2 Timothy 2:3,4

We were honored to be able to publish an interview with Nick in our magazine, Armchair General, a few years ago, and are deeply saddened to learn of his death. All of us at Armchair General send Nick's family our deepest condolences on his passing.

so extremely sorry to see and hear of the passing of a moh awardee like nick bacon--a one in a million soldier. i had the high honor of writing to him several years ago and i will always consider it the highest priviledge. i had my sympathy card which i sent to the address in conway returned, so this shall have to do. three cheers for nick bacon, all-american!!!
