I am so sad to read about Wally's passing. I only knew him for a short time period, as I met him this fall at the women's basketball games (my daughter is on the team.) I enjoyed visiting with him at the few home games I was able to make it down for. He was always sitting in the same spot and greeted me with a warm smile and kind words. I will miss him.

Wow, I'm just coming across this news now. My heart goes out to his family and closest friends. Let me just say Wally was the man. I met him at an ASU baseball game. He would always provide the student section with candy and snacks. I had the chance to sit down with him and just talk. You can tell he loved asu athletics. Baseball won't be the same.

Fisher Family:
I am really saddened for your loss. Wally was a special friend and father figure to me also. We shared a lot of ASU sporting events together for many years and he gave me great advice on life in general and some stern talks when I needed them. (Smile) He was one of the finest people I ever knew and will be missed tremendously by a lot of people.
Sincerely.

We have often said that auction nights at Pot Of Gold Estate Liquidations & Auctions are like a big family get-together. We have made friends and many of those friends have become such a part of the fabric of our "crazy quilt" that we consider them Family.
Last week we lost a member of our POG Family in the fine and respected gentleman, in every sense of each of those words, Dr. Wallace Fisher...we knew him as "The Colonel"...he was a friend to everyone he ever met...we loved him and we will miss him. - Dan &Cheryl Todd, Cassie Todd-Jameson, and the entire POG Team

My wife and I met Wally 12 years ago at an ASU football game. We got to talking about our past experiences and I mentioned I was an Air Force vet and that was the start of a great and lasting friendship with Wally. He mentioned he was an Air Force Flight Surgeon and seemed to immediately firm up our friendship. Besides football, he also was a devoted follower of ASU Baseball, ASU Women's Basketball, ASU Softball. We always looked forward to attending ASU sports events and we would always arrive early to have a chance to talk to Wally before the games. As anyone who knew Wally will tell you, he was a caring, kind, and unselfish individual and both my wife and I will sorely miss his presence as we see the empty seats he occupied at the sporting events, as well as our pre-game chats. Rest in Peace, my friend.

Wally was the most kind, helpful, generous, friendly and patriotic person you could meet. Even after retirement from the practice of medicine, he kept up, going to weekly medical education conferences at local hospitals. Knowing him was a privilege. His passing is a great loss.

Wally was not just my friend, he was like a very cool Uncle and I did call him Uncle Wally many times as a term of Love and Respect. He was a huge part of my life and a Senior member of my "Baseball Family" at ASU. He will be terribly missed as an Uncle, and as a close friend I could talk to anytime about anything. It will be impossible to go to ASU sporting events without thinking of him! My Sincere condolences to his family, and RIP Wally!
