Mr D., I couldn't believe it when I heard the news of your passing. When I met first you, you had this beaming smile along with your scruffy beard. You were an amazing educator. One of those who inspired me to become one myself.

I remember saying to myself, 'Wow, when the time comes, I want to be that kind of teacher.' I'm certain that he has positively influenced a lot of lives including mine even when before he started teaching.

That is the kind of the person he is. The world is a much better place with good people around and he was undoubtedly one of them.

I am saddened by this news and my condolences go towards his family.

So if it's possible that he could read this, I just want to say that it was a blessing to have met him. My prayers for him and towards his family in this time of sorrow.

May you rest in peace Mr. D. You will forever stay in memory.

Mr. D was one of the best teachers I have ever had. He was compassionate and had high expectations. I can only hope to continue that legacy as a teacher myself.

Mr. D. You made English one of my favorite classes of 8th grade. I hated English until your class. I haven't had anything English teacher that could compare. You made reading fun. You were one of the most memorable teachers I have ever had. You will be missed! Sun Valley Class of '97. <3

Coach Dessenberger was definitely one of the good ones. He was a great tennis coach and even if we played poorly, he was always there to give us compliments and make us laugh. He will truly be missed.
