Zoie Stamas Obituary

Zoie Lynn Stamas, 50, of Phoenix, AZ , passed away Saturday, October 21, 2006. Zoie was a native resident of Arizona born on March 26, 1956 and graduated from Cortez High School. She was preceded in death by her father John T. Stamas. Survivors include her beloved life partner; Jeanna Holt, two sons; Jason (Layne) McDonald, Matthew Hall, three grandchildren; Alyse, Hunter and Jayden McDonald, her mother; Marian Stamas Dickerson, four brothers; Tomas, Ted, Louis and Peter Stamas, and extended family. Zoie will be deeply missed and in our hearts forever. Visitation, Wednesday, October 25, 2006, 3:00 to 5:00 P.M., with Funeral Service following at 5:00 P.M., A. L. Moore Grimshaw Bethany Chapel, 710 West Bethany Home Road.

Zoie: You were a very special person, to know you was to love you! Your smile was bright and your happy laughter with your grandchildren was someone everyone would want to be around. As my neighbor for 7 years, on Blackhawk Dr. still miss you even though our family has moved from the neighbor hood many years ago, I still think of you more than you know. Save a spot for me in Heaven Zoie!

Zoie was a great friend to all of us in Canada. She was our sister too. This past summer will always be our fondest memories with Zoie, Alyse and Auntie Marion. I know that you are in heaven and all of your suffering is done. I also know that we will see each other again. I was saddened to hear of Zoie’s passing and wanted to extend my deepest sympathy to her family. I knew her through a mutual friend, but haven’t spoken with her for several years. I remember her sitting with her son Jason when he was probably in 1st grade, and his homework was reading out loud to her. She was so patient and encouraging with him as he struggled through the book. I really admired her for that. I'm praying for all of you.
