John:

I don't know what to say my friend, other than I already miss you. First it was Randy and now you. I can't help but wonder if I'm getting close to joining you and Ra Ra, because I'm older than both of you. I'd like to hang around here a little bit longer but if you guys need me there to interpret, (where ever that might be) I guess could meet you guys there but Karen wouldn't like it. Please don't pull any strings to get me there early. Karen wouldn't appreciated that very much.

Few people knew we had nicknames for each other. I called you Gorilla (pronounced in Spanish) and you called me Chingo Domingo.

I have so many funny and fond memories of you Gorilla that I could write a book, but don't worry I won't. I remember when we'd go to choir practice in the winter time (in the old days) and you'd pull out that nasty, ugly, smelly U.S. Army top coat, then put on your gloves, grab a beer, then with that dead pan smile of yours you'd ask everyone "are we having fun yet?" I guess you just had to be there to understand that one. But if THEY don't get it, that's okay, because it only pertains to you.

I've recently been talking to some old friends of ours and they all say to tell you good bye for now and we'll see you on the other side. That's Me, Gino and Quenton saying goodbye, for now anyway. I guess we'll stop crying in a few days or so but I won't stop missing you.

One more thing. Thanks for introducing me to Tomas Parks, way back when Dinosaurs walked this earth. He's proved to be a wonderful friend even if he was on the other side at the refinery strikes, (inside joke). And he's got a wonder wife that we love dearly.

I guess I better stop here before they tell me too.

Love you Gorilla.......

Such a terrible loss, my heart does ache for my good friend of 44 years, Mr. John Fidler. Since 1972, our times together since college were such a blessing.
His signature, unique sense of humor always did attest his good nature and work ethic. I am sorrowed for you Laurie, and all the family and extended family.
As his KCSD and KLEA partners will attest, John was such a good person, and always had our safety top priority.I will miss greatly John, and our Colorado River trips he so much enjoyed.
Knowing his service in the US Army Military Police, I say to you now John: "Thank you for my Freedoms, and thank you for your service to your country".God Bless our United States Armed Forces and our Veterans.
If but a word, a certain gesture, or a look of relief--or hearing the words accompaning it spoken--can sometimes mean so much, to so many, especially in their time of need.
So shall we ever meet,......act......and part.

Laurie, I pray for you to be strong during this time of sorrow. You and John had many adventures together, and I enjoyed watching all the post on FB of all the states that you traveled. John will be truly missed. God bless you and your family. Love you. Sheila, Allan, Jacob & Allyson.
