I would like to express and share my thoughts and perception of Marco Rocha. We are connected through the marriage of our children, Virginia and Richard. Living miles across country in NC, I had only come to know Marco from brief visits to CA. I had the privilege to stay in his and Debbie's home on one such visit. We played cards and it was a fun time. Marco enjoyed cards and laughed through the entire game. He was a jokester and a tease and had a very giving heart, except at cards. lol Our grandkids loved his teasing them. He was a role model and a man of honor and character. He believed that anyone could achieve through hard work and sacrifice, as his life admirably showed this. Marco was a faithful and loving husband to Debbie, friend and tender loving father to his children, and adoring grandfather to our mutual grandchildren Michael, Kristen, and Sarah Smith. Marco was a hands on kind of father and grandfather who loved deeply and shared that love for them in all the things he did with and for them. He taught the grandkids life skills such as learning to ride a bike, how to fish, plant a garden, how to work hard and give back, to be strong in spirit, to lend a hand when needed and to be honest and treat people fairly. He was also very supportive of all the opportunities and functions the grandkids were involved in such as sports, dance, school and church functions and plays. Marco had a gift of laughter and humor. You would always see him with a smile. He was a fun guy and he appreciated life and the blessings that God provided. His honorable service for our country is greatly appreciated and we honor him for it. Now one would ask how I know all this about Marco, living so far away. I will tell you that these attributes are apparent from observation, friendship, and testimony from my grandchildren. Marco was a very fine and honorable man. The many gifts that Marco leaves behind will forever be a part of those who knew and loved him. He lives on in his children and grandchildren and will never be forgotten. Farewell Marco, until we meet again one day in the future. Thanks for taking such good care of and teaching our grandchildren through the years. You will be missed by many and as a musician on your church Praise Team, for sure!
