I was blessed to meet this feisty lady! RIP, Mona
June 1, 2015
Condolences to all the Gretleins and Hanes family members. Mona will be missed. Although Rod died just 13 years after we married, I have been blessed to call Mona my mother-in-law for 42 years. She was an extremely generous woman and a wonderful grandmother to our son Alex. I will miss her greatly.

I will always remember the amazing hospitality that Mona and Bob showed to me and my family every time we visited Bakersfield! I always knew that when I showed up at the Gretlein household, I was going to be treated like royalty-and I was never disappointed. Peace and joy to David, Kathie and the family as they celebrate Mona's life!

Where do I start? Mona and Bob where like second parents! We were at their house or they were at ours! The big Christnas tree in the front yard was a fun climb for Rod and I ! We always hide from David! One day I got stung by a wasp on the top of my head, Mona put this purple stuff on it and everyone thought I had wring worm! Mona and my Mom(Margie) got the biggest laugh! I did sewing like Mona and my Mom and Mona always wanted to see what I made! She was always positive about everything! We went on so many wonderful vacations with the Gretleins! One winter we went to Tahoe to ski and Bob broke his leg and we all had to pile in one car so Bob could have the back seat! She didn't let Bob breaking his leg ruin the trip! She cooked enough for an army! Had great cookies also! When I purchased my home she gave me plants and cuttings from her yard, I still gave them in my yard. She did have a green thumb! She loved to read and would share her books with my mom and me! She always found the good in everyone and loved her family and friends! She and my mom where very strong women and set in there ways! I will miss her as I do my Mom. Love to David and Kathy(Shirley) families! Hugs and Kisses, Love, Judy Eastberg Baird
