Mr. Godecke was one of my favorite teachers. So sad about his passing. Dawn Yeargan Carlon '66

I took Yearbook for two years under Mr. Godecke. He was tough and outspoken...I was chosen as editor-in-chief my senior year. I am grateful for his tutelage.

I enjoyed reading about his life and am especially impressed with his volunteering at Kendrick Elementary School later in his life.

Mr. Godecke was my journalism teacher for 3 years at South High (class of '68). He taught me how to tell a story! This helped me as a training director, technical writer, teacher, and researcher! He made English fun. - Shirley Zentmire-Salas

I am so sorry to learn of Stan's passing. I was Asst. School Sec'y during the 70's and I remember one day a group of us went to have pizza after work and Stan played "Another Brick In The Wall" on the juke box. I was surprised to learn he was a huge fan of Pink Floyd! Stan had such a wonderful sense of humor and I really enjoyed visiting with him on breaks. He was always willing to help during his free period when I needed to find a last-minute substitute for any class. Stan will be missed. As family and friends reminisce, may sharing the wonderful memories of Stan help ease the pain of his loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and family.
