How this sweet, sincere, gifted man will be missed. His soothing voice made evrything more alive. His radio and PBS presence has been a constant in my life for over 35 years. So many thanks to him. My sympathy to his family.

My condolences to the Fornatale family... I grew up listening to Pete on WNEW in the 70's, and loved his shows. Pete will be greatly missed. What a huge loss.

Pete, You will forever be a part of our hearts, music and life as you were in our childhood, youth and adulthood! You were our "mixed bag" of only goodness, compassion and passion for music, musicians and will remain a part of all of our yesterdays, todays and tomorrows! Pete Fornatale was a part of my life since he first sat at a microphone at WNEW FM in the late 60's. I've been a fan and admirer ever since. His voice has been stilled now. But it will live on in the hearts and minds of millions forever. Rest in Peace, Pete Thanks for a great ride. Fordham has lost another great alumni.

Mixed Bag was a huge part of my life in the 80s. Pete exposed me to great folk and beyond music that I still pursue today. Pete had a voice and a delivery and knowledge that set the standard.

I am so very sad about the loss of Pete. My heart and prayers go out to the Fornatale family.

A very important part of my life for nearly 30 years has been taken away.

There are not enough words to describe how much his work and spirit has influenced and given comfort to me.

I will always remember an interview you conducted with Brian Wilson, how many years ago?, ending with an fascinating appreciation of the song "Until I Die." It was the reverb from the chauffeur's quarters! You made brought out something that was hidden, something human and meaningful, respectful of your interview, but also of your audience. Here, and in everything you did, you made a difference.
