My mother would be delighted to know that there is a permanence to her life as people remember her through this online guest book. She was intrigued by technological changes that younger people around her benefited from. When I saw Mama at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Baltimore on Sunday, October 21st before returning to Brooklyn, New York, I knew I may not see her alive again. She gave me a long, meaningful look, as if signaling what I also suspected and knew was her wish to no longer suffer physically. She had kept repeating "I am tired" and admitted she was ready to leave us. Even at the end she was a great Overseer of her days on Earth--realistic, resilient, at times too commanding, but unfailingly dedicated to people she loved and willing to sacrifice to uplift them. It will take me some time to think and feel through who she was to me. I am very blessed to have had her as my mother. I know that she is resting in peace and quite curious about all the sites in Heaven.

Dear Loving Family...I was so blessed to be there for the Memorial. She was "just
like a Mom" to me.

Lovely flowers blossom on the vine, renewed as seasons come and go, basking in the glory of the sun. Then, in time, their petals fade and fall, never to awaken the next spring. Faith and philosophy and loved ones are the marvelous pillars of support that guide us through the inevitable. Gwen, may you rest in peace as you bloom among those you've known and loved and missed.
