Today, I just discovered the passing of Dr. Chunn. I was one of his assistant during my tenure at Howard University School of Social Work in the mid 70's. Saddened to learn he has passed. 11/16/2016

Mrs. Chunn: Truly you are embraced in our faith and spirit during your season of bereavement and we thank God for today-new mercy and grace! I am very famailiar with Chunn History, via my gr'mother, the late Emma Bell Chunn Turner/Rome, GA(eldest child of Rev.Henry F. & Fannie Gaines Chunn). During my NY college transitions, did speak briefly with Dr.J.C Chunn, then President,Medger Evers College. Blessings to you & family!!ptb1938@yahoo.com September 20,2013

To the family of Dr. Jay Chunn,
Regrettably, I just recently found out that my old Dean, Colleague and very good friend passed away back in January. There will never be enough words to say about Dr. Chunn as he was so very instrumental in my career starting at Howard University School of Social Work and beyond. Jay was a trailblazer and man of impecable character who just did everything RIGHT! His contributions to the field of Social Work and beyond will long live his legacy. So, to a great friend and colleague may you rest in Almighty God's eternal peace and may the perpetual light shine on your soul forever and ever AMEN!
