I met John just in October. He was a guest at my husband Peter's surprise birthday party. It had been many years since the gang saw him, I am so glad now that I had the opportunity to meet him and that his many friends from the neighborhood and elementary school got to reconnect with him.

He gave me a big hug when he left my home and thanked me for including him in the celebration. He told me how happy he was to have seen everyone again and that he wanted to get together again real soon. He spoke about seeing his sons later that weekend and we talked briefly about parenthood. In that short period of time he loved talking about his sons.

My prayers are with his family.

I feel blessed to have met him.
