I just received the news today my dear friend and ally. I will miss you dearly and the world especially Baltimore City was always a better place because of you my liberal and caring friend. God bless you and my deepest sympathy to the family. You are in a better place with the LORD.

When I think of Larry I'm taken back to those formidable teenage years when Charlie and I were still too young to drive. Without hesitation, Larry would rev up that old yellow Dodge Dart, seemingly at our beckon call, and take us wherever we wanted to go. And he did so, not in an obligatory way, but willingly, almost as though he was reliving his youth vicariously through us.

I remember a couple of long weekends camping at Shenandoah National Park, doing things then that today would seem so out of bounds, yet all the while Larry was there, watching our backs, helping us stay close to the boundaries within reason.

Unfortunately time got away from us, life embraced us and we went in different directions as the years rolled on. But whenever I did see Larry, however distant the time between visits, it was that same older brotherly love that enveloped those moments. That perpetual look of pride when we reminisced about the old memories that for me will always be bookmarks in time.

Rest in peace old friend. I'm so fortunate that the paths of our life journeys crossed. May God embrace you in His kingdom. Until we meet again... With love...
