I will truly miss Pat! She was great to talk to and I always loved the educational presents she got for Matthew each year. I'm sure my dad, Michael Schirmer, and Pat are enjoying their crab cake lunches in heaven together.

Pat came to Ascension Lutheran Church after I had been there for a few years. I had never been anywhere that I shared the same last name with anyone except a relative. After Pat came to Ascension we frequently got asked the question, "Are you two related?". Initially our response had been simply "no". As it got asked more and more I am not sure exactly how we came up with it, but our response became " Yes, we are related. We are pretend cousins." We would have a good laugh as would the person(s) asking the question.
I will miss Pat's easy laugh and smile as well as her kind and gentle nature.
