Karen, Will, Anne and Sam,

I am still in shock over Bill's passing. The world is a lesser place without him.

We started hanging together during the days of the Marble Bar in Baltimore.

I treasure all of the fine concerts we saw together over the years. The shows at Orion Studios were great and I think Bill liked them the best because of the great vibe there and all of the fine people. It won't be the same there without him.

We also went to the ProgDay festival in Chapel Hill a few times together and had a blast. The time that Karen and my brother came with us was a highlight.

Other highlights were the six times we saw Jeff Beck together, Bill's favorite guitarist and mine too.

Bill was also a great husband and devoted father. I was always impressed when he told me he was going to prepare dinner to enjoy with Karen and the menus always sounded so fine.

He was so proud of William's academic and sports accomplishments. In particular he loved watching Will play basketball in junior high, high school and college including his many trips with Karen to the Terps home games. He took me on the road to Durham, NC to watch them beat Duke in Will's sophomore season. It was most exciting game I have ever seen live. Bill and I were stoked and he was beaming.

I will really miss his dry, sardonic wit. It as truly unique. We also shared a love of fine quality brews.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of loss.

He is irreplaceable.
