Mrs. Marie Dunahoo Smith, age 78, of Jonesboro, passed away Monday, November 5, 2012.

She was a retired teacher from the Clayton County School System. She loved children as she taught at Tara Elementary School in the third grade for 19 years. Mrs. Smith's main love in life was her family. She was a member of the Winder Chapter of the Eastern Star and a member of the Red Hatters Society. She liked to travel, read, and was a wonderful seamstress. Her college major was Home Economics. She was preceded in death by a sister.

She is survived by: her husband, Winston; children, Duane (Cindy) Smith of Hampton, Steve (Jody) Smith of Orchard Hill, Terry (June) Smith of Monroe, Winn (Scott) Skipper of McDonough; 3 brothers; 1 sister; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held, Thursday, November 8 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior the service.
