My memories of Janis are as the sister team of Janis and Connie. The memories are so fond. She was a bit quieter, but those two when together always seemed to be laughing and just enjoying the people God put in their path. Janis was a kind, hard-working woman with a strong faith in God. She was an example to us all. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Janis was a teenage girl, then a woman I always looked up to as we grew up a couple years apart at the Battle Creek Calvary Baptist Church. She had a steadfast faith in Jesus and a sweet spirit that I admired. Along with Janis, her mom, dad, and sister, Connie, were examples of authentic Christian faith. Janis was part of those who influenced me to follow Jesus and be involved in ministry. She will be missed.

Although I haven't seen Janis in many years, I have kept up with her through her sister, Connie Dillard. I have prayed quite often for her and been there emotionally through the years and was hoping she could beat this deadly disease. The Lord saw otherwise and chose to take her home with him and her family. Janis was so much fun when we were growing up and we all had a wonderful time as cousins playing at Grandma's house. I remember one time she actually ate "mud" pies and had dirt all around her mouth. So funny, and then another time she rain smack into a tree when we were playing hide and seek. She had two black eyes for days. Oh the memories we have as children would amaze you. You never forget them and I will never forget Janis. She was one of a kind and thank God for that!! Love you, Janis

As with Janis' other "brothers and sisters", we don't sorrow as those who have no hope, but her infectious laugh and sweet spirit will be missed! Our love and prayers go out to Connie and Jan's family.
