Prayers for your family for the loss of such a sweet man. I was only an acquaintance of Bill's, but always enjoyed our brief conversations about life, his mother and how he was doing. I just read what Walt wrote below and think how lucky you were to have such a wonderful man that was family. He will be missed.

Our deepest sympathy to the entire Burke family in the loss of Bill. We know he holds a special place in all of your hearts. May he be in peace as you lie him in his final resting place. Our prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.

I have known Bill since January 2001. I first met him at Bravo restaurant with his mother, Margaret (GiGi), after only a few weeks of dating his niece, Sara. At the time, I noticed that there was something unique about Bill. After only an hour into our dinner, I realized how special he really was. After I married Sara, and as the years passed, Bill always made me feel like I was family. My love continued to grow for him, as I realized that his unique qualities were actually gifts from heaven. In a world where material pursuits, jealousies, grabs for power, deceit and a lack of belief in the power of Jesus are so prevalent, I realized that Bill was the antithesis of all of these weaknesses. Though he faced many adversities that most of us never had to consider, I believe that Bill showed more grace and is the closest to an angel I have met on earth. His constant focus on others and their happiness, his constant expression of love for me and my family, and his enduring thankfulness for the blessings he had, humble me every day. I am forever indebted for the lessons he taught my children and the love he shared. I miss the breakfasts, lunches, dinners, the attendance to many masses together, and the sharing of holidays during our first eight years together in Michigan. Since our relocation to Pennsylvania six years ago, I felt guilty that we weren't able to interact face to face more frequently. But through all these years, his expression of love and our intense love for Bill never wavered, though we had to do it through regular phone conversations and limited visits back to Michigan. I would like to thank those, who during these years, continued to take care of Bill and showed him love during his times of need. I love all of you for doing so. I feel thankful, blessed, and humbled to have known a man as honest, caring, thoughtful, and decent as William Burke Jr. I am proud to call him my friend and family. Bill, I love you, give GiGi a hug for me, and I'll see you again someday. May God continue to bless you. Love, Walt
