Marlene Syring Obituary

Syring, Marlene K. (Rocheleau) Bay City, Michigan Marlene passed away Friday afternoon, September 29, 2017 at her residence with her family by her side. Age 78 years. She was born in Bay City on August 7, 1939 to the late Lawrence and Marie (Ruegsegger) Socia. She married her former husband Keith Rocheleau, he preceded her in death. She then married Loyal O. Syring on September 12, 2014, he preceded her in death on November 15, 2015. Marlene was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish St. Johns Church Essexville. She retired from TES/Stalkers and also as a hairstylist. Marlene enjoyed doing crafts, gardening and flowers. Surviving are children, Larry (Valarie) Rocheleau, Marie Kurzer and Dianne (Randy) Badour; grandchildren, Kris (Nicci), Douglas, Shannon, Jason, Michelle, Kelsey (Tom), Toni (Nick), Jordan, Scott, Tammy (Shaun), Jason (Holly), Chris and Ashley; great grandchildren, Shelby, Ransom, Kiri, Kate, Owen, Baby Lincoln due in December, Cameron, Kaelynn, Karianna, Lauren, Kari Beth, Danielle, Arianna, Emily and Casey; great great grandson, Blake; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Marlene was also preceded in death by brother, Donald Socia and son-in-law, Allan Kurzer. Marlene's Funeral Liturgy will take place on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish St. John's Church, celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Dale A. Orlik with rite of committal following in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. A vigil for the deceased will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 7:00 p.m. Marlene will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial contribution to McLaren Hospice, Disability Resource Center or Pardee Cancer Fund.
