As a child and student at Bay City's Dorland Elementary School, I remember Betty (Neering) being a Teacher's Aide there. She always had a smile and a kind word. Betty complimented me on my mom's handiwork on my homemade dresses and knitted sweaters. I remember her being a "Bookmobile" driver as well. Even though I was not serviced by the Bookmobile, I remember her role in that capacity. My home church is Messiah Lutheran in west-side Bay City. Betty knew me when I was born as she knew my parents from the church. I encountered Betty at various church functions and dinners. I always liked her very much as she was an encouraging person who truly cared about the children she worked with and influenced! I am now 54 years of age and my own mother has been gone for 5 years. I know you are saddened at her passing as I am, but heaven is rejoicing as she is welcomed home! Take care and God bless all of you! Love, Vicki Ahlberg-Ives
