In Memory of the way Pete lived his life each day, we ask you consider a random act of kindness each year.

Our Dearest Pete,
Your special love, kindness, wisdom & infectious smile will live on in our hearts forever. Enjoy the unimaginable beauty that surely surrounds you now, as we know you enjoyed the beauty of this earth, we were so blessed to share with you. Give our Kevin Richard hugs and kisses from us, and know, we all miss you both more than words can say and hearts should have to bear.
We surely know the doors of heaven must have swung open wide when such a good man stepped through... We can imagine the joyful smiles and hearty handshakes, the first words that must have greeted you- "Well done, my good and faithful servant, well done!"
We were blessed by your presence here on earth and we'll be blessed when we see you again. Until then, we will try to do what you did so well: live joyously, give each day unselfishly and love completely.
You are forever with us.

Less than two weeks ago my sister buried her husband, her soul mate and her children's most beloved father. Pete was our father, husband, brother, dearest friend, son and uncle, ....and so much more to all of us who loved him. His absence leaves a large hole in our family that will never be filled. These last several days love poured out from so many students (past and present), colleagues and friends. You will never know how you helped us through this tragic time in our lives. It touched us so deeply to be told over and over again how Pete made such a difference in each and every one of your lives. Deb, Kevin, Katey and Our entire family thanks you for sharing your stories and our grief . Please keep Pete, Deb, Kevin and Katey in your prayers.
The Family of Pete Karoly
Dearest daughter Debbie, Kevin and Katey,
We are so proud of the love you and Peter shared. We know that love will help you, Kevin and Katey.
The day Kevin and Katey were born, Peter was so proud of you Debbie. You could see the love in his eyes and that loving look will always be in our hearts.
We know Kevin and Katey will carry on where their father left off because of their amazing mom and dad.
Peter, your two young nephews, Ben and Alex, loved going to baseball and Spirit's games with you. They loved their Uncle Peter and they will miss your loving presence as they are growing up.
Peter, we never thought of life without your love, laughter and your beautiful face.
Heaven's gain is our loss. Carry on your work in Heaven. Sadly missed by all.
Until we meet again son,
Mom and Dad VanSumeren
Dear Karoly Family...I was deeply saddened to hear of Mr. Karoly's sudden passing. I was fortunate enough to have had him as a teacher for Photography my junior year at Handy. He was so patient with the group of us as we learned about F-stops and agitating...also, it was rare that you wouldn't see Mr. Karoly at sporting events with his camera around his neck and his infectious smile. It was obvious to everyone who knew him that he loved life. He will be greatly missed and remembered always. My deepest sympathies...
Dear Deb, Kevin and Katey,
Our hearts ache for all who knew and loved Pete, but especially for you, the loves of his life. We will never forget all the special moments with your family, whether on one of our many shared vacations, at a family event, sitting around at one of our homes or up north talking. You know we loved him so and wish Viktor would have had the pleasure of growing up knowing Pete's amazing love. You can be sure Jeffrey, Amber and Matt will tell him all about his great, Uncle Pete, the hockey goalie!
Deb, we know you and Peter were a match made in heaven. Once you found him at age 16, you never let each other go. The love you shared shaped you both, without that, you would not have been the Deb and Pete we all know and love. You brought out the best in each other, and shared it with everyone. We will always love you. We feel blessed to have shared so many, many, memories, laughs and love with your family.
Katey and Kevin, your dad was so proud of each of you and loved you so much. I know you felt that love, but if you ever doubt it, just remember the way he looked at you. You could see it in his eyes and in his smile and in everything he did. You made him so happy.
Marge, we are so sorry you lost your Peter. I know you will feel this loss greatly. He was a great son, and he and Deb were always there for you. I pray the many memories of Pete through the years and the knowledge that he was so happy and so well loved will comfort you. I pray you can share your love and find some joy with the people Peter loved most, Deb, Katey and Kevin. Peter would like that. Grandchildren are among God's greatest gifts, as are grandparents. I am glad they have you.
Joe and Nancy, I am so sorry for the loss of your brother. I know you are hurting. I pray you will someday get to share more of your time and memories of Pete with Deb, Katey and Kevin. I have a feeling they will need and welcome that.
Pete's Dear Aunt Kate, Pete loved you and Carl so. We've spent many family times with you, and we know you loved him, too. May God grant you peace.
Mom and Dad, we know your heart is broken, for we know you loved Peter as your own and for the happiness he gave Debbie.
Our Prayers are with you all, Deb, Kevin & Katey. Thank you, for sharing your Pete with us and with so many others.
May the love of God, friends and family carry you all through your grief.
Thank you God, for blessing us with Pete and thank you, Pete, for loving us; we miss you so. Until, we meet again, dear friend and brother...
Deb,Katey,Kevin, Please accept our prayers and love for you and all your family. I know Pete is looking down on all of us and guideing you though this untimely loss.
Please know that we are thinking of you and praying for you all. Our Love and Prayers. Kaye,Pat,Zach,Amy&Cody Schultz.
Dear sister Deb, Kevin, Katey,
I can't begin to know the pain and sorrow you're feeling right now. Alll of our hearts are breaking. Pete, your Dad was an amazing man whose love for others was evident in all he did. We will miss him more than any words can describe. And we want you to know we love you and will be here for you always to help in any way we can. Lovingly, Jan and Terry
I just wanted to express my condolences to the family of an amazing teacher that I had the pleasure of having at BCC in 1998 and 1999. His encouragement for me to write and debate anything and everything especially music, I will always remember. Thank you, Mr. Karoly. Rest in Peace.
Dear Deb, Katey and Kevin,
Peter was a mentor and teacher who inspired us to achieve and live.
Most of all, first and foremost, Peter was a devoted and beloved husband, father son, brother, nephew, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle and amazing friend.
Wow, what a fantastic achievement because Peter participated in each role with abounding love.
My dear sister,Deb, you and Pete were truly one. The dearest of loves that I have ever seen. I hope you can find solace in knowing you were his one and only and truest love.
This love will live on and continue because Kevin and Katey learned first hand through Deb and Pete what it takes to be the best mom and dad, the best husband and wife. There couldn't be a better example to emulate.
I praise the Lord for bringing Peter into our family. What a blessing for Michael to have such an outstanding human being for an uncle. As a brother-in-law, Peter was always there if you needed him. What a joy, so full of love and laughter.
Thank you Peter for sharing your light with us.
I know a man named Peter Karoly. He talked the talk but most importantly he walked the walk everyday in pursuit of becoming who God created him to be.
Pete, Rest in peace with our Heavenly Father.
We will love you forever. Until we meet again. Sherry and Michael
