Favorite Uncle who took so much time with me as I grew up..taught me to water-ski, paddle a canoe and love Lake Huron. Only good memories, in our hearts forever.

From just one of many that benefited from the labor of love that Willard put into Bay County ice hockey, I'd like to express my deepest condolences to his family. We don't often think of the impact that an individual has on us until we reflect. My love of hockey continues on, a direct result of the people, such as Willard, that dedicated so much of their time to making sure kids had a place to play the game. Though I didn't know him well personally, I know he was the uncle of the famous Marty "Monk" Spencer, who spoke so highly of him. His legacy lives on in those of us hockey players, coaches and "Market Rats".
