My parents, Lu and Rita, adored and respected Kirk and Ardath. They shared a love of boating and I believe Dad did some business with Kirk. They had many friends in common, some of whom have signed this guestbook. Kirk and Ardath always looked great, were dignified but knew how to have fun. I know Dad and Kirk shared a lot of laughs. I remember the article in the Bay City Times about Kirk returning to Normandy on the 50th anniversary of the invasion. He was truly a fine example of the greatest generation. My condolences to Ardath, Laura and the whole family.

As your backyard neighbors,we Peterson's lovingly remember "Big Kirk." I will never forget the time in my very early childhood that I boldly showed Laura (my best best friend) how to re-arrange the hot coals on Kirk's backyard grill. I am sure he was preparing a wonderful steak dinner. After Kirk realized I had put out the fire entirely, he chased me all up and down Gysin Court and even crawled through my back yard bushes with a spatula in his hand, yelling "Lynnie Peterson, I will get you!" Scared me to death...but I always adored Kirk, Ardeth, Mike, Randy and Laura -- Bud and Phyl are toasting to you Big Kirk. You were the best! xxoo Lynne Peterson Murphy

It doesn't seem that long ago when Randy and I graduated together from WMU (1977). That's when I met Kirk and Ardath for the first time. Great people! Our condolences to the family and God Bless! David and Nancy Stuhler

Mr. Timm holds a special place in my childhood memories. As one of the "adult children" of Gysen Court, I remember with love and affection, Kirk collecting up the other men in the neighborhood to pick up and wedge my dad's VW onto the front porch of our home. I remember the retribution for that prank of completely filling Timm's garage with hale bales.
With fathers like ours, it's amazing that Randy and I aren't in jail.
Thanks for being one of my childhood dads, Mr. Kirk. Thanks for giving a damn about us.

I delivered the newspaper to his house for several years in the mid-80s. He was always very nice and friendly to talk to. I wish I'd known then that was was a WWII vet. It would've been fascinating to hear those stories.

My condolences to his family.

My condolences to you Ardie and your lovely family. I guess I was too young to realize what a hero Kirk when. I do remember what a tease he was and always made me laugh.
My God comfort you along with Mike, Laura and Randy and their families.

My favorite uncle and God-father was Uncle Kirk. He always had a story or joke that made me smile, laugh. I enjoyed going on his yacht, fishing, and bringing our catch home and cooking them on a large, heavy ironstone pan. Uncle Kirk loved Aunt Ardy and his family.. He will forever be loved, remembered and remain in my heart!
