NEERING, SALLY E. Essexville Sally E. Neering was born March 24, 1925 to the late Charles and Helen (Green) McGinnis in Bay City. She died Friday, February 12, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. Sally was a graduate of Bay City Central High School Class of 1943 and was employed for 25 years as the office manager of Superior Abstract Company. On September 2, 1944 she married Kenneth L. Neering in St. John the Evangelist Church and they have resided in Essexville ever since. Sally was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish, its Altar Society, and a former member of the Bay City Jr. Women's Club, the Essexville Women's, and the Legal Secretaries Association. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Ken, and their daughter, Debra (Don Diven); a granddaughter: Sara (Brandon) Reed; three step-grandchildren: Jessie, Erin, and Andy Diven; two nieces: Sue Shaffer, Barb Hunt; and one nephew: Mike (Jean) Neering. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Charles Neering on January 9, 2015; her daughter, Karen Neering; her sister, Catherine Marie McGinnis; and her brother, Walter McGinnis. A Memorial service will be celebrated Wednesday, February, 17, 2016 at 4:00 pm in the W. A. Trahan Funeral Chapel. Rev. Dale A. Orlik will preside with inurnment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice. Visiting hours with the family will be Wednesday after 1:00 pm until the time of service at the W. A. Debbie, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. She was always one of my favorite mom's in our class. Your parents were always so gracious, having all of us giggling girls over for sleepovers, etc. I remember so many wonderful times. Love and hugs to you and your dad and prayers for your mom and the rest of the family. May she rest in peace.
