DeHate, Dorothy I. Pinconning Mrs. DeHate, 91, passed away Friday March 4, 2016 at Huron Woods Nursing Home with her loving family at her side following a lingering illness. She was born in Bay City on January 17, 1925 to the late William & Gertrude (Manor) Musser. She married Russell DeHate on February 16, 1946 at St. Anne Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on November24, 1980. She was a lifetime and active member of St. Anne Church, St. Anne Society and Daughter of Isabelle. She enjoyed quilting; bowling, traveling, playing cards especially euchre and attend the Valley Trail Riders Events with her family. Surviving her are her children Willie & Sharron DeHate, Dale & Nancy DeHate, David & Rita DeHate, Daniel DeHate, Denise & Floyd Jeske, Joel DeHate and Doreen & Dan Jones; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; Sisters Emma LaPan, Bernice Kearns and Wilma & Joe Smolen. She was preceded in death by her siblings Leanor Hopkins, Clifford Musser, Clayton Musser, William Musser and Rita Weaver. The family would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You "to the staff at Huron Woods for their outstanding and compassionate care given the Dorothy and the family during her stay there. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday March 8, 2016 at 10 am from Prince of Peace-St. Anne Campus with burial in St. Anne Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday at Rivertown Funeral Chapel from 2 to 8 pm and a Vigil Service at 7 pm. On Tuesday Dorothy will lie in state at church from 9 am until time of Mass. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Prince of Peace- St. Anne Campus Building Fund.

Too many great memories to mention them all! Some that come to mind are the summers we all spent together at Higgins Lake, family gatherings on the Holidays and swimming in the Bay. Aunt Dorothy made the best Lemon Meringue Pie.
Too all my cousins....I'm so sorry to hear of her passing. Her Faith was strong and I'm sure she is with her Husband as I write this.
