Sorry I couldn't be there today to share in the celebration of Dougs life. I was really blessed so many times coming into the store with his big smile and his attempts to encourage me to buy!!! god used him in many ways over the years through that shop. Im sad that he didn't get long in his retirement but am glad that we will meet one day again. Sending my love and prayers at this time to Jenny and the family. XJanice McConnell :)

It was so sad to learn of the death of Doug. I can still see his smiling and laughing face in my mind as he chatted and gave advice on the best book for what I was after. My husband used to want to travel on his days off just to catch up with Doug in the shop. When it closed we both so wanted to catch up with him and thank him. I pray that in his last year here that he was able to do all he wanted to, be with all he wanted to be with and know that he had touched so many lives! With love to his family, we will always remember him in every book we pick up off our bookshelf and pray God richly blesses him in his journey into eternity ox
