RIP uncle Rodney. I knew you from when I was five years of age when you had the launch The Rotoiti operating lake tours from Okere falls. You were a friend of my late parents Norm and Gwyneth Keen, dad used to do the surveys on the Rotoiti and also your brother boat the Ngaroto. I also remember you in later years teaching music at Western Height high school, I attended Rotorua Girls High School and played the clarinet in the orchestra and also the combined schools orchestras. You will always be part of my childhood years, RIP, my thoughts go to your cherished wife Ann and your children and grand children.
Trish Bailey (nee Keen)
THE OPEN GATE
There's an open gate at the end of the road
Through which each must go alone;
And there is a light we cannot see;
Our Father claims his own.
Beyond the gate our loved one
Finds happiness and rest;
And there is comfort
In the thought
That a loving God knows best
