Aunt Nancy - You were part of some of my cherished childhood memories. I remember you saying "Sit down, skinny girl, have some more kugel". You called me skinny! :) Sammy and I loved to come over to visit and eat some delicious food. I never went to OOB without a stop at your place. Thanks for the memories. You're already missed. XOXO
We have so many wonderful memories of Nancy and all of our summer family. She was truly the sunshine of Old Orchard Beach. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Love, Jane, Vikki and Sharon
How does one put into words what Nancy Offenberg meant to me?
I was in my late teens when I met Nancy Offenberg in OOB, becoming close friends with Wendy and Sharon. We spent many nights laughing and when I went to Bangor on the spur of a moment trip over New Year's Nancy had every minute of my stay scheduled out! When my brother and I drove to OOB back in 1985 for Rosh Hashanah, she wanted no part of us staying at a hotel, we stayed with them for 4 days, eating and enjoying "our U.S. family" for the holidays. Every trip I took to OOB, the first thing I needed to do was go and visit with "The Offenbergs". I will miss her terribly. The beach won't be the same without her.
My deepest sympathies to my friends, for the loss of their loving mom, mother-in-law, sister and bubbi.
She will always be in my thoughts.
Nancy was the nicest, kindest person I ever knew. I will always remember her at old orchard beach and the love she had for everyone who came to visit her. I will always cherish those memories. RIP Nancy
The Grunko family will hold you in their thoughts. We can remember how much fun your grandmother Bobbie and Nancy were.
For 37 years I've known the Nance, hung with the girls @ the beach and in the kitchen eating toasted pitas w/peanutbutter...a thousand memories made over the years. Mrs. O. always made me feel part of the family & I consider the Silver/Offenberg clan to be part of mine. Even my daughter had her very own bubbie! Not every goy can say that! We're all better for having shared in her life. We'll miss her terribly but knowing she's dancing on all her toes among the stars watching over us is of great comfort. Lovingly,
Janie, my deepest condolences. I haven't seen you in years, but you have always been in my heart, and I will keep you in my prayers at this difficult time.
Cousin Nancy always studied a restaurant menu like she was taking her college finals!!! After all that reading she would would order something very simple!!! I would say, "Nancy, try something different." No she replied I just like to see what is on the menu!!! But there was no better cook then Nancy. Eating in her house was the best meal you will ever have!!!
With great love and condolences my heart reaches out to my extended family. Nancy will always be in my heart.
I have wonderful memories of Mrs. Offenberg. As a teen traveling to Washington D.C. and NY with Center Youth to all memories at O.O.B. One of the kindest, sweetest, generous, most wonderful woman I had the pleasure of knowing. Sadly we say goodbye. My thought, prayers and love to her family and friends that loved her.
I used to visit Nancy and her sisters when we were younger. We always had so much fun. She was a great older cousin. Our love and prayers to her children, grandchildren and to her sisters. Debrah Silver Carter
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Nancy. What a wonderful person she was. I remember her from my teenage years and how kind and helpful she always was to me and, of course, others. My prayers are with her family.
Janie and family, so sorry for your loss. Thinking of
you at this difficult time.
Nancy is irreplaceable! She welcomed me to Bangor and the Silver family nearly 40 years ago and her kindness never waned. I will miss her terribly.
My sincere condolences to the family of Mrs. Offenberg, my third grade teacher at Fruit Street School many years ago. I remember her as a good teacher with high expectations of her pupils, a disciplinarian, and very stylish lady. Shalom.
