Lloyd Libby Obituary
After graduating from Brewer High School he joined the U.S. Air Force where he served for six years. A sheet metal worker, Lloyd also enjoyed gardening and raising pigs which is where he got the name from his wife "the pig farmer." Lloyd was an active member since 1975 and four time past worthy president of Brewer Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 3177. He was an avid bowler and a member of the senior bowling league at Family Fun Lanes. He was also a member of Senior Citizens Club of Bangor, and Friday Night Singles Club held at the Eagles Club.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Althea S. Libby, he was predeceased by sister, Arlene Rogers of Brewer; and two brothers, Donald Libby of Exeter and Edward Libby of Brewer. Lloyd is survived by three children, Lloyd B. Libby Jr. and wife, Ann, of Eddington, Sharon and husband, Mathew Nadeau, of Brewer, and Edward Libby Sr. and wife, Mary, of Exeter; grandchildren, Chris, Amanda and husband, Jeremy, David, Nicole, Amanda and husband, Casey, Doug and fiancée, Jess, Tarik, Seth, Edward Jr., Kayla and Holly; great-grandchildren, Libby, Jacob, Ava, Owen, Izybella, Justyn, Makenzy, Camryn, Douglas Jr., Aleigh and Edward III; special great-granddaughter, Hailey; two brothers, Arthur Libby and wife, Ann, of Brewer, and Richard Libby Sr. and wife, Donna, of Brewer; sister, Doris and husband, Danny Mayhew, of Levant; sister-in-law, Valerie of Exeter; and many other family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Apostolic Lighthouse Church, 517 Hammond St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Charles Hurst, pastor, officiating. Interment, with military honors will be held 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Exeter Center Yard Cemetery. Memorial services will be conducted 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the church by the officers and members of Brewer Eagles Club. I have known Lloyd since I was dating my husband Jim Martin, about 50 years ago. I got to know him again at the Bangor Singles dances in the lat two years when I realized that I had not seen him for several weeks I asked about him to find out he was sick. We really miss him at the dance. When my brother-in-law was in Ross Manor I ran into LLoyd there. I would stop to visit him on my way in and out. He had a great sense of humor even then. I was sorry to hear at the singles dance that he had passed away. He was a great man and will be sadly miss every where he has gone. My heart goes out to all who knew him. Dianne Martin
