A school mate of mine at TJ, a great Yellow Jacket! Didn't know him well, but admired him for him manner and gentleness. Followed him in his pro career. Probably will see you soon, goose.

THE FIFTIES WERE great in Port Arthur and folks like Goose Gonsoulin were some of the ones that made that so! Thanks for the memories and prayers to your family!

As a young boy growing up in Denver, I always idolized professional athletes. At the top of my list was #23 of the Broncos, Austin "Goose" Gonsoulin. He played a tough, clean brand of football and was well respected by teammates and opponents alike. It was pure joy watching him play football and having him as a member of our community. Though I never got to meet him in person, I always felt like I knew him well because of the class he showed on and off the field. He definitely served as a positive role model for many of us who went on to compete in athletics as kids and adults. My heart goes out to the Gonsoulin family and all his friends and teammates. I will always remember #23 and smile when I see his name in the "Ring of Fame" at the stadium in Denver.

It must be exciting to love what do for your chosen career. Austin Gonsoulin is a great example; he loved the game of football and played it well. My family and I are very sorry for your loss, and we hope that you find solace through constant prayer, cherished memories shared with Austin, and the benefits of a successful career. With deepest sympathy!

Words cannot express our sympathy for the loss of a great man and athlete. We heard many stories about Mr. Gonsoulin from our dad.
To Mrs. Gonsoulin - thank you for all your calls concerning our dad during and after his surgery....
You all are in our thoughts and prayers.
