To the children and grandchildren of Farrell, my deepest condolences on his passing. May GOD's infinite mercy and grace be comfort to you throughout your lives.
The Attaway family was a subscriber to the Port Arthur Newspaper when I was a delivery boy in the early 1950's. I was fortunate to see Farrell play in a playoff game against Austin High in Port Arthur stadium and later deliver newspapers to his parents house. On several occasions I was unable to get to the front door of their house because they had a german shepherd dog who I knew would bite my leg off. Mr. Attaway would always come out and get the paper without incident. The fondest memory of Farrell was the time he would spend with me conversing about TJ football and what it took to be outstanding as a player. Little did I know that a position on the football team awaited me. To this day, those conversations we had will be cherished.
