Lee Preston Crosby, 91, of Beaumont, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at Jefferson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Beaumont. He was born on December 17, 1921, in Emilee, to Ruth and George Crosby, and had been a longtime resident of Beaumont. Preston proudly served in the United States Army in the European Theater during World War II, landing in Normandy, France in 1943. He worked as a machinist in refineries in the Winnie and Beaumont areas. His greatest passions were serving God and loving his family. He was a member of North End Baptist Church and served as a teacher and deacon for many years. Preston is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Bennie Crosby; daughters, Linda Mack and her husband, Billy and Cheryl Boykin and her husband, Charles; grandchildren, Brian and Erik Mack, David Boykin, and Heather Tucker Soto; great- grandchildren, Taylor and Tyler Tucker, Whitney and William Mack, and Madeline Boykin; brother, Douglas Crosby and his wife, Opal; and sister-in-law, Florence Crosby. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Rupert, Quinton, and Marshall; and sister, Clarice Goza. A gathering of Mr. Crosby's family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 16, 2013, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Broussard's, with a graveside service to follow at 4:00 p.m., at Ebenezer Cemetery, FM 256, Colmesneil.
