To the sweet children of Mattie. * She was a special Lady " There wasn't a kid on Earl or St Helena that didn't know her. She opened her home to all of us. Thank You for sharing the photos. It brought back memories. Will never forget Marvin teaching me to drive his red Moped. The last visit I had with Mattie was when Marvin passed, and I brought food to her home. May she fly with the Angels. Much love, JoAnn Stuart & brother Lewis ( Cookie ) Leach

What a wonderful lady! Mattie was always so much fun to be around. She had such a great outlook on life. It was so refreshing to see someone take a bad situation and turn it around by way of funny sarcastic remarks. She Could always make us laugh. She was a pure pleasure to be around!

What a wonderful friendship I Had with Mattie. We Met in 1960 at Weingartens, where we worked together for many years. We had some good times over the years. She will be dearly missed.

Glynnis Gail, Kay Ellen, & Jimmy, I wish I could be there in person to reminisce regarding all the great times on Earl Street, Skateland, our beach cabin, the Neches River, etc., that we spent together.

I enjoyed watching your video tribute. Growing up I thought Marvin looked like Elvis.

Aunt Mattie’s legacy as such a great mother will live on for generations. No one can ever take her place.
