1926 - 2016 James M. Kent, 89, of Kirbyville died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Funeral service will be 10 am Saturday, Jan. 16, at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Kirbyville with burial at Kirbyville Cemetery. Visitation and rosary will be from 6-8 pm Friday at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville. A native and lifelong resident of Kirbyville, he was a retired master carpenter and a World War II US Navy Veteran. He is survived by his children, James Anthony Kent of Savoy, TX; Judith Marie Stringer of Kirbyville; Michael Thomas Kent & Sandy of Magnolia Springs; Mark Kent & Kathy of Kirbyville and Paul Kent & Cay of Kirbyville; a sister, Ida Martinez of Nederland; 8 grandchildren, Shane Kent, Michelle Blanco & Joe, Bryan Sanders, Mallory Trusty & Justin, Nikki Siau & Jeff, Kelli McInnis & James, Kristi Stimits & Brant, Justin Kent & Caci, Brian Caraway & Karrie, and Alissa Riley & T.J.; 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. May perpetual light shine upon James. He always greeted us with a big smile when I would go with Aunt Ida to visit him, and I always enjoyed his very interesting stories. He was a very special man, and will be missed.
