I want to apologize to Rodney's family for not getting to write on here sooner but I just found out about Rodney passing. I grew up around the corner from Rodney and his family. I spent a lot of time at their house playing basketball in the driveway. I am a little younger than him and looked up to him more as a kinda big brother than a friend. He was always looking out for his friends and the younger kids in the neighborhood. He was a great guy and will always be missed by anyone that knew him. I'd like to thank him and his family for their sacrifice. I will never forget you.

I boxed with Rodney and his brother when I don't think any of us was more than 13yrs old,we boxed for maybe a year and I never got to see Rodney again. My point to all this is Rodney was that type of guy that once you met him you would never forget him,he was one of a kind and any one that got to meet him got to meet a REAL MAN. GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN

STILL PRAYING FOR ALL OF RODNEYS FAMILY!
December 15, 2010
I had the honor of serving with Rodney while with HHC 1-12 Cav. I was his XO and as such, we worked very closely together. We were friends. He used to love calling me Mike when none of the soldiers were around.

We spent many a night on patrol, playing video games or just talking of home.

There were few days that went by that we didn't spend signficant time together.

I knew and saw the love he had for his family, as he talked about them continusiouly.

To this day, tears feel my eyes as I think about a wonderful person who was taken home before any of us were ready.

I still see photos of us and remember the good times.

I was honored when Rodney asked me to write a letter of Recomendation on his behalf for WO school.

The last time I saw him, we were both clearing from Hood.

I did get the chance to talk to him a few months before his last deployment, if I would have know it would be the last time, we would have talked longer.

To those he left behind, I don't have to tell you what u lost, he was a great man!

I just wish to extend my condolences to family and friends. I did not know Rodney but I did draw his Dog Tag on a "Memorial Freedom Motorcyle Run" in IL. There were about 20,000 bikes involved. I have taken him with me on every other Poker Run this past year and will again next year on the "Memorial Freedom Ride". People see the tags and ask about them, I tell them who he is and what he(and his family) gave for our country. Rodney is Not Forgotten!!
