Joyce remembered by a freind..

Before training new pilots and flying doctors around East Africa I worked with Joyce in the 80's at a small office supply company in Bedford, she had a wicked sense of humour, a warm heart and endearing smile. I was privileged enough to be asked by Joyce to re-enhance the fading signatures of all the squadron pilots on her son John's wall picture of his Phantom F4, John had sadly lost his life in the Falklands while on a pursuit training sortie so this endeavour was as important to me as it was to Joyce. I also remember taking Joyce's husband for a local flight around Bedford in a beaten up old PA28 – he was also a keen flying enthusiast as I recall and he thoroughly enjoyed seeing his home from above. I only briefly met Julie once at the office in Bedford and was immediately charmed by her lively persona and welcoming smile – she could only be a Gostick for sure. Although these days I'm mostly in Dubai or New Zealand and a long way from Bedford, I will never forget Joyce and her family.
