Praying for your family. What a wonderful spirit your mother had. Many people don't realize how much she has done for women in politics and people who live in the State of Illinois. God bless.

Kevin: I am so very sorry to hear of Mrs. Collins' passing. She was an inspiration and a mentor to me during my employment with her in both Chicago and on The Hill. Candice: I'm glad your grandmother lived to see you grow up and, hopefully, she was an inspiration to you also. Mrs. Collins is gone, but her legacy will live forever. May God caress you both in your grief and wash you in pleasant memories.

My thoughts and prayers are with Kevin and the rest of the family during this time of bereavement.
Up until two years ago, I always could count on Rep. Collins coming to the ALC. I always made certain she had tickets and she always was so graciously appreciative. I thank her for her encouragement to me in my role as CBCF President. I thank her for her role in championing female causes in Congress.

Congresswoman Collins was a humble sweet woman, we use to sat together at Alfred Street Baptist until her health starting to fail her but we always missed her presence.
