Edwin,

Of all those that I served with you were the best. You were a great leader and a great friend. I truly wish we would have stayed in contact after parting ways in Italy. It broke my heart learning of your passing. Your memory will live on through me and my sons. Your picture hangs in my home and I tell my boys stories about you on memorial day. You are missed but never forgotten. Good bye my brother.

My Dearest Edwin,

Here we are again on this date. 10 down, X to go. Today will never be the same without you; but I am grateful that this year I do have this immense joy in my heart. This year there is hope in our family again.
I miss you and wish I could share so many things with you... not being able to, I will never get used to.
I love you dearly.

My dear friend, how I have missed you! Life has really dealt me a raw deal so far this year and I think so often of all the times in my life you were there, just being you and being a friend. Listening and speaking those words of encouragement, advice and comfort in the way only you could. I remember when my Dad was in the hospital with cancer and took a turn for the worse. I was going to get on the Metro Link to go to the hospital. You told me that would take too long and risked your job to take me. Like all your comrades in battle, I was blessed to know the Edwin that stood between you and harm's way in his "civilian" life also. I was so priveleged on your Birthday this past 4th of July to honor you with a toast with your family on the phone, like we were all together. And in spirit we truly were together with you. I think of you in happy times and I remember that picture of you the last time you went home to CA to spend your Birthday with your mom and sisters. You had a big smile (that smile) and you were wearing that blue shirt. Life without you here is hard for all of us, but, you have left us a legacy and we try everyday to live as you would want us to live.
Love,
Georgia Prusa
