MURDOCH. - Dame Elisabeth AC DBE Geelong Grammar School remembers Dame Elisabeth with deep affection, pride, and gratitude. From 1922 to 1926 she attended Clyde School, which in 1976 amalgamated with GGS and The Hermitage (her sister Sylvia Ritchie's old school), and to which she remained devoted: with Sir Keith she sent their three daughters - Helen, Anne, and Janet - to school there. From 1942, with Rupert at Corio until 1949, she was a GGS parent - to become, in later years, also a GGS grandparent and great- grandparent. But she was also one of our great supporters, and inspiring in her example of unselfish service. In 2009 a new senior girls' boarding house was named by the School Council Elisabeth Murdoch House in recognition of her wonderful character. We have her family in our loving thoughts and prayers in their great bereavement. Christus nobis factus Sapientia

MURDOCH. - Dame Elizabeth AC DBE My warm condolences to the Murdoch family at this time of loss for each of you. Dame Elizabeth was not just a valued and generous patron and supporter of The Salvation Army, but in every conversation I had with her, she revealed a caring heart that felt for people of every age and every situation: the homeless, troubled youth, sick children, artists. Whenever she discussed a Salvation Army project with me, she was keen to know all the details of its planned purpose and outcome. A wise donor as well as a generous giver. She will be greatly missed by all, not least by myself. - General Eva Burrows AC Retired.
