To the King Family - I am sorry for your loss. I came across this obituary looking for someone else and thought of you. I remember your mother, her children (Mia) and remember visiting your home when I would visit my grandmother, Ms. Myrtle Howard on 12th Street. God Bless You All, Tina Silas

Its been five years since you left us but you are still deeply embedded in our hearts. There is not a day that passes that you are not in my thoughts. Though time has healed some of the initial wounds of losing you, it will never take from me the love, admiration and respect I feel for you. I know that I was lucky to have you for a mother because I am still learning from you today. You don't know how good it feels to have a mother who knew how to show and share love for her children equally and unconditionally. Each of us had a special piece of your heart and for that I will forever be grateful. I will always love you. Your daughter, Mia.

Many tranquil memories I have from all those hours I sat in front of the "lily pond," as I called it, when I was a girl growing up in the Rosemont area of East St. Louis. To this day, I still love that pond and fountain.

I loved to watch the gold fish and frogs, that always jumped to and from the lily pads, in that pond. And the water, always changing those beautiful colors, dazzled me for hours on end.

Thanks, for your efforts to restore the pond to its "glory days." If I can help, financially, I'm only too glad to. Thanks, again.
