To Jean and the entire Riess Family --
I am so shocked and sad to learn of Jeff's sudden loss. He was a special part of Manheim Chicago's family, and we miss him very much.
I grew up in Collinsville; Jeff used to come in for the Ford sales and call out "Hey, Collinsville" and I'd reply "Hey, Belleville" in return. His laugh was genuine and infectious.
Wishing you God's Peace,

Jean, I was shocked and saddened when my sister Cheryl called to tell me of Jeff's passing. I remember Joey, Jeff and Wes playing together as little boys in the neighborhood. My fondest memory is of Jeff's amusement to my son John, who's 2 1/2 years younger. Jeff would giggle and laugh with such joy. He was taken much too soon. Please accept our sympathy. Love, LeAnn, Joey, Sherry and John Stein

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember along time ago when we took a stationwagon with the seats in the back to St Louis to see Santa Claus . Jeff always said he was not scared. So when Wes and I went up to talk to him, Jeff was in the back crying not wanting to go up. Those memories are so clear in my mind, the going over to his mom and dads house was always fun. May you rest in peace.
Through the years of our boys knowing each other and having such a great friendship, Keenan and I have appreciated you and Jeff for the kind things you and he have done for us over the years. I will always remember his smile and that smelly cigar! Through it all look to God for your support and strength. You know you can always call on me for anything. This is such a tragic loss. You and your family are in our prayers. May God bless you and keep you. Valarie & Keenan
My prayer to the family of Jeff.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jeff's family in their time of sorrow. Jeff was our true friend, always helpful, always cheerful, always friendly. All of his many friends and us will miss him greatly. My God bless and reward him.
My name is Donna Carter. I work at the Manheim Kansas City Auto Auction. I am so sorry to hear about Jeff. I have worked with him since we had our first Ford Factory Sale. He will be sadly missed here. He was a very easy and nice person to work with.
Oh, the memories. I just love this photo of Jeff - it captures his personality that he had even as the boy who was at my house every summer, playing football, basketball, baseball, riding bikes all over town with my brothers - and many times, the big sister was tagging along. Jeff was always smiling like he knew the punchline that you didn't know. I know you will miss him dearly, but hope in time, the memories will comfort your family. Much love,
He will be missed.
Wayne Hammond, Bernard Fleming and Jeremy Josephson
My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Riess family. So sorry for your loss. Marilyn Stone

I was so sad to hear this news; I had not stayed in touch with him, but Jeff was a great friend during our younger years growing up in Marissa. My family moved away while I was in high school, but I cherish memories of his friendship. My thoughts & prayers to his family & friends.
Rest in peace, my dear friend. You always brought a smile to my face for no particular reason. Maybe it was your laugh or your walk or your stories or your genuine love of life. You demonstrated consistency and professionalism in your chosen career. I am thankful you carried on with your parent's business so that many of us were able to know you through the years. Thank you for sharing your good nature and your beautiful wife and children with my family. We all hold you in such high regards. It is way too soon to say good bye and I am deeply saddened at this time. May God hold you close Jeff and keep your family closer yet.
Deepest sympathy goes out to my second family. I love you guys and you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Mr riess was a role model to me and will be missed every time I come home to visit. RIP
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Reiss family tonight, worked alot of years with Jeff and Wes at the old place in Indy, many good memories. RIP Jeff
Jean, Wes & family; please accept my sympathy; also to you Debbie even though we have never met. I am flooded with memories of Jeff in school; plus coming over with Lewie for sleepovers, coming to your dealership when still on Main Street to hang out with Jeff (how many dum-dum lollipops did I consume!?) Though he and Lewie were more inseparable, I appreciated him still considering me a friend inspite of my then social insecurities. I know you will miss him greatly. Prayers uplifted for you all!
We are praying for Jeff's family. May the love of his family and friends surround you through this difficult time. May God be with you.
To the Riess family,

Debbie, I am so sorry for your loss. Jeff was a great man. I enjoyed working for him back in the day.
Wow! This is tough for me - I have waited on Jeff almost every time he bought cars in Tampa over the past 19 years. "Ford Day" in Tampa was "Jeff Riess" Day for myself and many others who took care of our crazy, forgetful, distracted, 1 phone in each ear guy who was always running out the door to catch his plane and of course, occasionally he didn't make it. It will be so hard for us on this coming "Jeff Riess" Wednesday without this part of our adopted family with us. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed!!! You are all in my thoughts & prayers and may God's loving grace wrap you tightly in His arms to give you comfort and strength. BTW: He'd told me what a awesome time you all had on your recent trip to California....so glad you were able to "stop the rat race" & have that fabulous family time together to build more great memories for your family album.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Riess family
Our sincerest condolences to the entire Riess family. Jeff, you will be missed my friend.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
