PRAYER is very important at all times in life whether times of good, bad, or whatever situation one may be facing at a particular time in life. Draw close to God through PRAYER in this difficult time of losing a loved one in death and you would be surprised how God, Jehovah, will help you go through this time James 4:8.
The family and friends have my deepest sympathy for your loss. Trust in God and He will give you the necessary strength to endure this sad occasion. May Mr. Barber sleep in peace.
I am sorry for your loss. I hope you can find comfort in the words written at (Jeremiah 29:11,12)
I am sad for this great loss and sadder that I just discovered Miller's passing. A friend told me in conversation about my dad and his golfing days that he thought Miller was gone. I had tried to find Miller last December when my dad passed but couldn't get a specific contact even through Woodlawn. I grew up with Miller's name as a household word as he was in my house several times. While Miller was stationed in the Air Force at Perrin Field, he worked with my dad, Jerry White. Dad was still telling "Miller stories" when he died last December. A favorite story was that the base commander had "grounded" Miller as he thought that Miller was away from his desk too often. A General (sorry that I don't know which one) had flown in and called dad to tell Miller to have his clubs ready and be on the flight line to jet off for a week. When dad told the General why Miller wouldn't be able to golf, well...just imagine! The General called the base commander and shared an order or two, and you got it...Dad told Miller to head for the plane!!! Of course, Dad told it with all the great military details and the southern accent of the General, making the story more complete. Dad and Miller golfed together for many years. One of my treasures from dad is a watch that Miller gave dad and he was so proud of it. Miller left many great memories for so many people and I hope that his family can always laugh knowing how he touched so many lives with a smile. I am sure that Miller and dad are playing a round and having many great memories in the great course in the sky!
Larry, Karen and the rest of Barber family,
We were sorry to hear about your great loss, my round of golf with Miller and Larry at the Karsten course is a great memory and there's even video.

I got to know Mr. Barber in 2002 while working at Grayhawk Golf club. He was always very kind to everyone he came across. I was fortunate to spend a few afternoons on the practice range talking with and listening to his great stories of golf and life. He once told me " young feller you will never become a consistent player if you dont quit re gripping the club at the top of your back swing". Everytime he greeteed me it was with a " Hello young feller"! He was a great man and I know he will be missed by many many people.
May you find comfort in remembering your beloved father this Father's Day, and every day.
I had the opportunity to work for him as a young and played with him when he was home. A great guy in every possible way. Still have a few clubs he gave me. rest in peace and enjoy a few rounds up there with your old friends

Always enjoyed watching Miller Barber play at The Masters and the Kemper Open when it was held in Charlotte,NC.My favorite hole at Augusta is #14 and Miller made probably the best shot there I ever saw.He flew the green by some 30 yards and putted the ball from way off the green and the ball rolled down the large undulations straight in the hole.It was always a treat to watch him play and I am saddened by his death.May God bless each of the family members.
Karen, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May God bless you all.
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
