Teresa, we are greatly saddened to learn of Uncle Jack's passing. He was a favorite--a wonderful family man who always had a smile on his face and who welcomed us into his home each time we visited Belleville. He always spoke affectionately of his grandbabies, who meant so very much to him; they have lost a patient and caring grandpa.
God bless you for having him in your home during his last days. We know how much that meant to him, being the family man that he was.
The Karban family has been blessed by Jack's genealogical research, especially his research of the Karbans, for he was not a Karban. And yet he worked tirelessly on our family line and has provided us with an invaluable record of our ancestors. His work needs to be preserved so that it can be passed down for generations. That which he sent us will be shared and treasured; I hope to finish copying his work in the near future. What a treasure and a legacy he left us. Thank you, Uncle Jack.
While he was not a Karban, he most assuredly was a very important part of the family. We are going to miss him so very much, but find comfort in the fact that he is now with Aunt Ethel. What a lovely pair they were!
Health problems keep us from celebrating his life with you tomorrow; we will be there in spirit.
