Norman Oberdieck
Norman Louis Oberdieck, 80, of Glen Carbon, Ill., born Dec. 23, 1934, in Granite City, Ill., passed away at 4:37 p.m. Thursday July 30, 2015, at his residence.
Norman was a retired systems analyst for the St. Louis Board of Education. He was a member and usher of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville, Ill. He was a Lutheran Braille Workers volunteer, a member of the endowment committee at Good Shepherd, and a member of the Norm's Club. He was an Army veteran.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph August Louis and Olga Ottilie Augusta, nee Reuter; a brother, Donald Oberdieck; and two sisters, Eunice Wiese, and Joyce Meyer.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Joyce, nee Wendler, Oberdieck, whom he married on Jan. 19, 1963; a son, Brian (Emma) Oberdieck of Lanesville, Ind.; two daughters, Lynne (Leonard) Ernst of Worden, Ill., and Amy (Chris) Hathaway of Plato, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Timothy, Daniel and Joshua Oberdieck, Viki and Ana Ernst, Conner and Caeden Hathaway; a brother, Ed Oberdieck of Fairview Heights, Ill.; and two sisters, Thelma Randall and June Oberdieck both of Granite City, Ill.
Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran School Early Childhood Center, or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Endowment Fund for church worker tuition support and missions.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday August 2, 2015, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 North Center Street, Maryville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 3, 2015, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1300 Beltline Road, Collinsville, Ill., with Rev. Scott Adle officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Glen Carbon, Ill.
