We are very sorry for the loss of this great man and amazing young boys. My son, Matthew, had a great time with all of them while here in Stuttgart and has reminisced multiple times of scouting adventures with them. They touched many lives and their memory will live on in the hearts of many families for always...

Dear Sarah,
My family has such fond memories of Dave, Dominic and Grant. Both boys were adorable and I especially remember how cute Grant looked in his Tiger Cub outfit with his shorts almost touching the ground. He was the cutest cub I have ever seen. May God bless you, your son and your two daughters, while your angles watch over you.

Sarah, you and your family are in our prayers. We have fond memories of time spent with you all in Stuttgart. I keep seeing Grant's face from the days of Cubbies and remembering how much I enjoyed seeing him there each week. I remember there being something special about him that I sought out to speak to his parents and the more I got to know you all I realized Grant wasn't all that was special, the whole family was. May God send comfort and peace your way.

Dave, you are an amazing husband and father. I say are because you live on, and I have no doubt you will provide Sarah with much more love from you, many more blessings.
Remember how we always joked that you guys owed me since I set you and Sarah into motion?- I say I owe you. I owe you for making her so very happy, and loving her so much. I will miss you til I see you again. Xoxo

David was such an amazing husband and father. I remember his heart for Christ, his great love for his wife, and his passion for his children. Dom and Grant never ceased to have the joy of boyhood on their faces; Always smiling, always loving life, just like Mom and Dad. It's beyond me why such bright lights must be taken from a beautiful family that loves them, and gone from a dark world that needs them. But in the arms of Christ, they are truly home, albeit so, so much sooner than we would've dreamed. For all the family, but especially Sarah and Kate, I am so, so sorry for your loss. May God wrap you in comfort and love, and give you strength for the long journey ahead. Praying daily for you.

Words can never attempt to let Sarah know how much Dave meant to us. A great man and loving father has truly been lost. One funnier memory I have is when all the boys, Dave, & I went out to a local Football game while Sarah, Kim, and the girls were in Garmisch for the weekend. When Dom & Grant were being a little rowdy, I teased that I was going to string them up by their toes. Dom looked at Dave, who simply smiled and said, "Don't look at me, I'm gonna help Chris!"

Dave and I met in Mississippi while in Tech School. We became friends quickly as we learned we were both from Louisiana. Same city even. One particular time I remember Dave voicing his opinion to lead the squadron as we were learning to be men. He was one great guy. A great leader. From my family to all of Dave's family. We are sorry for your loss and our thoughts and prayers go out to you.

It's nice to read the memories people all around the world have share about Dave and his boys. I'm sure it helps Sarah and everyone else who shares the loss of these three beautiful souls. Faith in God and a huge loving family and friend support base will be here, there, anywhere needed. If the tears of your loved ones could take away the tears shed by you Sarah, Kate, Finn and Elise, you would never shed a tear yourself. I know your love and faith in God will bless you with beautiful days. And let us celebrate the lives we were so blessed to have known and let us continue to catch those contagious smiles here on earth sent from heaven <3

Dave, was a good friend and will be greatly missed. I had the privilege to operate along side Dave Decareaux with Cub Scout Pack 113 here in Stuttgart Germany. He was an inspiration to work with....always aiming high with everything he would do. He is the ideal father and husband, ensuring that his family was always included in his life. I could tell that his family was his life as much as he was there's. There were times in my life he had encouraged me to be a better father to my children and husband to my wife....just by watching him.

His two Sons, Dominic and Grant were greatly influenced by their father's way of life. They were well-mannered, very happy and just great to be around. They would always make me smile.

I know God always has a plan and I know sometimes it hits us by surprise and we don't always understand why. God's plan included my friends this past weekend; found their way into Jesus's arms. I pray for them and for his family here on Earth; his wife Sarah, daughter's Kate and Elise, and his son Finn. I cannot begin to understand their pain during this horrific time.

Dave left this world doing what he loved; Living life with his family. He will forever be an inspiration to me. When I have those days where I just want the kids to leave me alone, I will think of Dave, and I will put my kids back in my life and I will Live life with my family until the day I get to meet back up with Dave, Dominic and Grant. Rest in Peace friends.

Sarah, Kate, Finn and Elise, we miss you and wish we could be there for you during this most difficult time.

As a fellow Sister in Chirst, my heart is heavy for your family during this difficult time. I am praying God's peace, presence, and comfort upon you and your family. May God's healing fall upon your hearts today and stay with you always. Our words can not ease your pain, however, I pray knowing that so many fellow brothers and sisters in Christ praying and lifting you and your family up, ease a tad bit of your saddness. May you never be more than a whisper away. God bless you and your family always.

Although I have not had the opportunity to meet you Sarah and the kids, I knew how good of a person David was from living down the street from him during our childhood and that he is in Heaven watching over you and the kids. Dominic & Grant are next to him with smiles on their faces just like all the pictures I have seen of the, over the years letting you know that they are alright. If there is anything we can do from here, please don't hesitate to ask. Words can't express how deeply sorry we all are for you and the family.

God bless and keep your family. I want to share that Dave may not have known the impact he had on my family. As a homeschooling mother taking my young son to boy scout Twilight Camp I remember learning to let go and allow Dave to lead my son. Your husband was so patient and just had a special way with him that My husband and I could not beleve. After that experience I learned not to be so self-conscious about my son's personality or behavior and that my husband and I were not the only ones in the world that could deal with it. Because he welcomed him with a Christ-like heart. Grant was the same and Bismarck was blessed by him. Thank God for your family and may He show himself as the God of all comfort...

I'm still stunned that someone so incredibly full of life is just gone... along with two of his children. His kids and wife seemed to be the first things on his mind in everything he did. He was an avid outdoors man. I didn't know him well... I'd only met and had the opportunity to talk with him a few times. But he made such an impression on me that hearing this news really stuns and saddens me. If he's made such an impression on someone passing by - I can't even begin to grasp the loss to family and close friends. God Bless all of you and I will pray special prayers for your family.

Dearest Sarah, May God be with you now as He always is, with His comforting arms around you and yours. I will miss those beautiful children and Dave, they are forever in my heart. Your family is what every Christian family should be like. Your children were a delight, I will miss Dom's mischievous but ever thoughtful face! And grant the toothless grin I remember so well. I will cherish all of the pictures I have of them. I just wish we had them here instead of pics. God and Heidi will be there for them. Know that your sorrow is felt by me to the quick. But I know God has a plan and we just do not know what He will do with this tragedy, but know they are with God now and forever. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you or your family.
