To the Collins family,
I was very saddened to learn of TJ's passing. TJ was my flight chief at Scott AFB (80-82). He was, without a doubt, the best flight chief and friend you could have. I respected him immensely. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Shan and family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We know your dad and husband will be greatly missed. It was always a joy to see him at the football games we coached. Your memories of him will help heal the pain.

To the Collins Family, I wish you comfort and peace and strength for the passing of your loved one. I met T J Collins in a way that no one would want and that is when I was an inmate in St. Clair Co Jail. However, I am proud and appreciative that I did get a chance to meet him and speak with him. Mr. Collins was always fair and very disciplined. He gave me the opportunity to become a trustee when it went against all the rules, but I thank him for that opportunity today and forever more. Mr. Collins believed in me as a human being when everyone was condemning me as a person via media and by hearsay within the jail. I know his decision was a hard one but it was just and fair. And I never forgot that single act of kindness he bestowed upon me when he made me a trustee. I had never been in trouble, never had been in jail, so that single opportunity helped me cope with jail life. I appreciated what he did for me and I never forgot it. Mr. Collins was honorable and respectful and just about the only person throughout that jail system during my stay, that a person could truly look up to and admire and respect. So, today, I want to tell Mr. Collins thank you for going against all odds for me and believing in me as a person, a human being and a mother. Thank you for taking the time to listen to me when I needed assistance, thank you for being humane towards me in my darkest hour, thank you for being a God sent angel here on earth. Thank you for being Christ Like when all others condemned me. Thank you for being YOU! You will be truly missed and I pray that God has you in His arms right now!

Shalom!
