Wesley Verges ,an extraordinary, humble and kind person, provided an example of how to live with respect to both the planet and humankind .
He was trusted and respected by everyone that had the honour of knowing him .
He led by example . His expertise and knowledge as an engineer in both the U.S. and his home on Cayman Brac provided inspiration for new possibilities . His lifelong inquiry into alternate clean energy sources was clearly displayed at his first home on the Brac.
His respect for people of all genders, positions and cultures was a lived experience . His passion for wildlife ,birds and fish extended to their environments and subsequent preservation .
Most of all, Wes loyally loved his family and his many friends . His warm laugh and talent for cooking up a fish fry entranced us all .
He will be forever missed yet alive forever in my heart .
My sincere condolences to his sister, nieces, nephews and close friends in both Belleville ,Illinois and Cayman Brac . He will likely ,in spirit ,be watching his fishing buddy,Kenny Ryan, try to catch the next Wahoo.
Or maybe watching his friend,Ron ,around the Mississippi.
If it is in nature or near water, his soul will be happy for sure .
