Big Duga I really miss our hour long birthday calls and talking about old times. Someday we will do it again only without old Ma Bell we will be face to face again. I will always, always remember our trip to Alaska in 1987. I love you Bud! Lou

I remember all the times we were guests in Dave and Marilynn's home on the lake in Bellingham. I remember all the laughs we had out on their boat and I remember Brooke at about three months old sleeping on the floor under Dave's captains chair on the Duke as we toured the islands.
I still enjoy hearing Lou talk about his fishing trip to Alaska in 1987 with Dave and Marilynn and all the halibut stories.
We both have so many great memories of all our Belles adventures and he will live in my memory forever.
Our prayers go out to all of you in the family I know Dave will always be missed.
Love, Joanna Bergez'

Dave Belles (BIG D) entre-pre-neur, That is not the only word that describes Dave, but it is pretty close. Dave was my best friend for close to sixty years, even though we didn't live near each other we kept in touch. I never had a brother in real life but I considered him to be just that.
Dave sometimes lived on the edge, he would take necessary risks to achieve what he wanted to achieve, an he really achieved a lot.
He served in the Air Force for four years and I remember all the times we had in Alaska where we were stationed together.
I remember when he opened his first small business in Oregon the bar and grill, I remember when he moved to California and became an airline mechanic and lived with us for a while. I remember when he built his cement boat and bought a transmission business in Bellingham, he fished the seas in Alaska with his best friend, wife and first mate, Marilynn.
Dave was a dreamer, but he accomplished more in his lifetime than anyone I have ever known. If you wanted to hear a great story Capitian Dave could really tell it. Dave had a million little sayings that he had picked up in his in his journey in life, they were humourous and I find myself using some of them again and again.
I hope with all my heart that there is a big ocean up there in heaven, so that Big D can use it.
I will always love that man!

Dearest Marilynn, What a great guy to have had in our lives. One of a kind. All those wonderful memories will keep him near.
Dearest Dave, Wish you were here to make us laugh and share more boat stories. That will just have to wait until the next time we are lucky enough to see you again. For now, you live on in our fun & happy memories.
With much Love, Fred & Cathy Thompson

Grandpa, I miss you so much and I wish you were still here with us but I know that you are in a better place and one day I will see you again. I will tell Rylee what a wonderful great grandpa you were. I will tell her how much you loved her and really wanted to meet her. I will tell her stories of how much fun you were, how loving you were, and how amazing you were. I will always remember the fun times with you and Sara, and when Charlie and I came to visit. That was so much fun. I was looking back at the the trip and all the pictures we took I wish I could do it again. I wish I could of said goodbye, but I know you watching over everyone. I love you so much and I will see you again.

Love always your granddaughter, Holli

Grandpa, I miss you. You were my role model and friend. I will always have those memories of traveling to Alaska together (for 5 summers), catching the 130+++ lb. halibuts, trolling for salmon, and getting greasy in the engine room. I remember when you took Holli and I out to sea for 10+ days so we couldn't see the boys in town and when the whole Sundborg family spent 6 weeks traveling on the boat up to Alaska with you and grandma (how did we all fit?!). I love bragging to my friends about how you built your own sailboat, caught swordfish, taught us to fish and tye knots, and how you were working on building an airplane. You taught us all to believe in ourselves and that we can do anything we dream. Even though we all miss you here on Earth, I know you are safe and happy now and one day we will all see eachother. I wish I could have said goodbye, but I know you know that I love you and admire you. Your memories will live on with all of us and I hope you are smiling down on us as we continue on with the adventures. You have made an everlasting impression on many peoples lives and given so many opportunities to your grandchildren, children and friends. We thank you.

Love always your granddaughter, Sara
