It was very saddening to hear about your passing. You were much too young and too beautiful to have it end like this. I have had so many memories about you flashing through my mind since hearing the news. You were a good friend, mother, sister and daughter. It was obvious that your family loved you very much. I hope they, your family, makes it through this hard time of loss and grieving for you. It would be easy to drown in the misery and sorrow of your death.
It doesn’t seem fair.
But because you were loved, I hope that family and friends find the strength to get through this—not only for your memory, but for your children. We should honor your life by carrying forward and accomplishing the things that were taken from you much too soon.
Elicia, I remember the laughs we shared. Your laugh was so contagious. Hardly anyone could resist smiling and joining in once you started to laugh. You always knew how to tell a good story.
Although our friendship was limited to our teen years and you and I hadn’t seen each other for a few years before your passing—I will remember what a beautiful person you were. That was the great part about you. No matter how much time had lapsed and we would run into or see each other again, you were always so kind, caring, considerate—always willing to come and say “hi” and catch up.
I always wished and hoped good things for you. I didn’t imagine that this would be the path for you… A life ended too soon. Nonetheless, I will treasure your memory and spirit. And I will hold high the light of you that once shined so brightly on earth as you continue shining as an angel in heaven. My dear friend, and sister, Elicia.
