I just read all the wonderful things people have said about David and I must say I am very touched by each post some from people who didn't know him to people knew him well. I have had the privilege and honor to know him has a father in law, as a friend and a father figure. He treated me as one of his own. I am very proud to be a Wellspeak. He was an amazing family man and taught us all that family comes first. He was a proud honest caring man in his own quite way. His love for his family is nothing I have ever seen before. His love for his wife his soul mate is unthinkable. He loves her more then anyone could I think. And she him. He was always willing to give a helping hand he loved to do maple sugaring and as a family we would all help and he loved it. And making things with his own hands he enjoyed. He was loved by all. We miss you. Love you David/Dad.

A more honest man never lived, noble in his quiet way, with a subtle sense of humor that could pop up unexpectedly. He will not soon be forgotten.

Though we have never met there is a story I have been told several times that makes me smile every time I hear it. I was told Karen, when David would pull up in the drive way after a long hard day working in the lumber mills, you would wait at the door for David and greet him with a kiss. That on occasions he would bring you flowers, for his favorite girl, not for any particular reason... These flowers were called "Just because flowers".
Your love for one another, taught your children how to express love, and I thank you for that. I have never felt as loved as I am now.
I am sorry I never got to meet David, but he has definitely been spoken of fondly in our house on many occasions.
Strength and prayers to you Karen and to the Wellspeak family.
Now he stands tall. Now he can work on his projects everyday with no pain. Now he will be waiting for you, with a bouquet of "just because" flowers, when you are done with your work, and come home to him.

I wish I had the chance to tell David how much I love him, but every time I call to talk with Karen I would always say I love you guys and hope he knows that my love is very dear for him as he was so good to my sister and their children. You may have passed in body but your spirit will live on forever in our hearts and you will never be forgotten. I love you all or as mom would put it " Love you's " Love Pete and Paula
